How we calculate your rate

Client rates are calculated based on two components: the state-regulated notary fee and a service/convenience fee.  The notary fee is $15 per notarized signature, regardless of the time of day or type of appointment.  In addition to the state fee, a service/convenience fee applies to cover travel, fuel, maintenance, supplies, and labor.

 

Normal Business Hours (Mon–Fri, 9am–5pm):  the local service/convenience fee is $30 for appointments located within the city limits and immediate surrounding areas of Sonora, Jamestown, and Columbia (within 5 miles of downtown Sonora).  minimum charge is $45.

 

For appointments outside this area, the rate includes a $20 service fee plus $1.25 per mile traveled. The local rate structure is higher to simplify client billing and cover true travel costs without calculating precise mileage on every job.

 

Evening Hours (Mon–Fri, 5pm–9pm) -available by appointment only:  The local evening fee is $45, and the fee for appointments outside the local radius is $30 plus $1.75 per mile traveled,  Any same-day request service during evening hours is billed at the emergency rate.  minimum charge is $60. 

 

Emergency/After-Hours/24-Hour Service: We offer emergency service 24-hours a day, 7 days a week.  Available on a case-by-case basis, dependent on scheduling and availability. minimum charge is $100.
